BDE Installer is a tool for easy installation of BDE. BDE or Borland Database Engin is one of Delphi’s most important components for connecting to databases and performing data transactions. Although this component is old and obsolete, for some reason there may still be programmers who use this component. On the other hand, installing this component in Delphi is a separate story.
Improper installation of BDE or its subdivisions will cause the program to not use the capabilities of this component properly or other programs will be disrupted. In 16-bit and 32-bit Windows, such as Windows 95 and NT, BDE configuration information is installed inside the system registry instead of the ini file, so configuring different parts of BDE correctly to install is difficult, and time-consuming.
BDE Installer is a tool that allows you to configure and install this component much more easily than manually. Some programs may use only parts of the component, for example, the program you wrote may use only paradox tables, using the BDE Installer you can install only this part of the BDE in the system and thus save a lot of disk space.
It is also possible to safely remove parts of the component or remove them completely from the system. In fact, using this tool simplifies repetitive tasks and manual configuration operations for different system conditions, and with just a few clicks you will be able to install and use the BDE component on the desired system.
